Shot at Bar Lane Studios
Model : Artemis Fauna

Sometimes a shoot just comes together. I found Artemis from looking at another photographers work online, I dropped her a line just to say well done and what would you know she was only going to be in York a few days later.
A few phone calls later I’d acquired my space and everything was set.
See it really isn’t that hard to get yourself creating new work, you just need to get off your behind.

A quick note on the space used. Bar Lane Studios, one of Yorks more creative venues. Gallery, artists in residence with studios, little cafe plus an event list packed to the gills. The basement was a recent find for me and figured it was worth a punt at using for this shoot. It worked really rather well, a couple of things could be done to help out some but all in all really nice (bit chilly mind but what can one expect in a basement mid February). Checkout the Bar Lane gang and if you’re ever in York why not pop in for some culture –

Latest Work – City Shoots

A few more from this weeks sessions in the city.
It’s a couple of weeks now until the next batch of these so I’m off to look for some more locations.

I love how this one came out, pretty much exactly what I wanted with the collar popped up and Kylas eyes burning out at the viewer. Not bad for a girl wanting a shot at make-up / beauty modelling.

Just loved this little offbeat moment;

Day 314 / 365

So many shots I love from today. Love the hair flicks, love the golden light, love the looking up to camera. This one just kind of jumped out of the camera straight away.
Still loving the red wall (I’ve christened it “Emmys Wall” seeing as she was it’s first (so to speak)).

Smiles & Smiles.

A quick bunch of early edits from this afternoons shoot in the city with the ever so smiley Kyla.

Thanks for the great work girl, some good stuff in here for your portfolio (and mine)

If you ever need a bigger smile from Kyla? just say “. . . . aaaaand serious!”

Couldn’t help but revisit Emmys wall today too though.

Strange People | Hoodies & High Tops

Some quick select & edits from todays shoot with Emmy in the city.

Going for the street thing to produce shots for her upcoming EP.

Plus I think we managed to collect plenty of inspiration for future songs . . . . . . .

Thanks for answering the call Emmy and thanks for the laughs, girl with an afro halo.

Another shoot lined up for tomorrow so more on the way.

Day 313 / 365

Probably one of my favourites so far from todays shoot. It kind of captures what I wanted from the afternoon in one shot. Urban with a little street style and flair.
Thanks again Emmy, you rock those high-tops!

Just a quick post of some of the selects from yesterdays shoot in the city. Good weather gave me plenty of light (too much at times for some locations). Some of the locations I wanted to try worked, some would have with different light and some just didn’t suit Matthews look.

The blue doors were perfect but the light was streaming in from the left making angles very tricky. One worth a revisit for sure.
